Our Verdict:
Beretta APX Blowback 6mm BB Pistol Airsoft Gun
Introducing one of the best airsoft pistols and a well performing airsoft gun that we found under the $100 price tag, the Beretta APX Airsoft pistol.
We dubbed it as the best double shot action blowback powered airsoft pistol for both airsoft newbies and seasoned players for our own review and roundup because it has the basic features most players are looking for and more so you won’t only be able to enjoy a great game but have your airsoft games skills even magnified.
How so?
Well, let’s start with the packaging.
This blowback powered pistol was encased in a box with bubble wrap inside. Nothing super special but it came in one piece, which was a relief.
Its handle and the true double action trigger are made with a tough polymer frame while the metal slide feels super light.
Now…
…it’s up to you and your preferences if the metal sounding slide feeling light is a pro or a con.
Some say it feels like cheap metal, but there are also players and beginners who prefer a lighter metal slide to make reloading much easier and faster.
In case you’re wondering…
You have 15 rounds of magazine capacity for one magazine, which is also kind of average and just alright.
Now here’s what’s cooler:
While most airsoft pistols only come with one free magazine, you get to have 2 magazines in this package, which was another relief.
You can choose to buy some more for some serious airsoft games or keep the two because it also works to make reload speed much faster.
Just perfect if you’re looking for a badass pistol but still hesitant to invest and spend more. You get to enjoy 2 mags without having to buy a spare one.
The trigger was quite light, and again, this part is subjective.
If I’m feeling like a badass, I’d want a heavier trigger. But if I’m caught up in a serious battle, I’d want something that’s easier to use and operate.
Speaking of triggers…
This double shot action Umarex USA Beretta APX airsoft pistol also features a trigger guard or a switch to lock the trigger. That’s a nice safety touch that I always look for in airsoft guns, especially if you have kids around at home, you’d definitely want something safe to have.
This Beretta features double shot action that, even though the metal slide felt a little light and it’s not an ultra realistic replica physically speaking, still makes everything feel more realistic.
Actually…
… it may be a gas blowback powered pistol, but its blowback action isn’t as sharp as most blowback pistols do.
This one’s a little subdued and less loud with a gentle and soft recoil. As I’ve said, this is perfect for people who are looking for some life-like action but not as heavy.
This also makes it perfect as a backyard or indoor plinker.
Yep, I also found it very beneficial as a backyard plinker for people who are still learning how to use firearms or just simply target shooting practice.
Its airsoft BB was able to dent my aluminum monster cans at a distance of about 50 feet with an FPS of 325.
In case you’re wondering…
…the Beretta APX CO2 cartridge is completely internal, being mounted internally inside the grip, making it quite nice for not having a chamber that’s sticking out awfully but also makes reloading its gas slow mushy trigger.
Aside from the extra mag, I was also delighted to know that it also comes with 2 swappable grip plates in the shades silver and black.
Another great feature of which I’m a fan is the aesthetically pleasing Picatinny rail. bERE
First off, this Picatinny rail holds the white dot sights on the back and front Picatinny rail. It came really in handy when I had to play in low-light conditions.
Aside from that, you can also attach your favorite attachments such as a scope and laser among a multitude of others in the underbarrel Picatinny rail. Perfect as a real world training tool!
Wondering about the drawbacks?
As I’ve said earlier, this Beretta APX that features double shot action blowback isn’t perfect and there are shortcomings, too, so it’s definitely not for everyone.
First off is its weight that’s considerably lighter than a fully loaded Glock. So if you’re looking for an ultra realistic replica, this may not be your thing.
But if you’re looking for something not so intimidating but still with a realistic streak, this is your best bet, definitely!
Some also say that the metal slide feels fake as it also pulls lighter than the usual blowback pistol. But then that’s what makes it versatile for both beginners and blowback-loving seasoned players.

Our comrades here at Airsoftnut know that we don’t simply review. We get everything and use them for ourselves to be able to serve you an accurate account of our experiences.
We’ve agreed on five important metrics that are also the most important things to consider when choosing your own blowback airsoft pistol.
We then used this along with other blowback pistols that we reviewed and here are our findings for each metric.
Our Analysis, Comparisons & Test Results
Performance Comparison
1. Value for Money
This measures how much did the pistols deliver in connection with their price tags. The Beretta APX baby may be 2nd from the very bottom of the list but it scored a decent 8. It’s not super revolutionary but it’s still not the usual blowback pistol.
Value for Money Rating
2. Power
Again, the Beretta APX sits third from the bottom but its score of ANOTHER 8 is still not bad. 325 FPS is actually just right and the fact that all my aluminum cans for targets were all deeply dented as if hit by steel BB models only show that this is still a force to be reckoned with.
Power Rating
3. Versatility
When it comes to versatility, this pistol is not super simple but also not complicated so both beginners and veterans can enjoy playing with it.
Versatility Rating
4. Range
I was able to shoot accurately in a distance of around 50 feet, which is a feat, really! Although this is not for long-range shots, 50 feet is also quite exceptional.
Range Rating
5. Accuracy
As mentioned above, I used this for backyard plinking, and never once did I miss a target. It’s also thanks to its white dot sights that I was still able to see even in low light conditions.
