Our Verdict:
Elite Force Walther P99 Blowback CO2 Powered Airsoft Pistol
6 months on this guy and it’s already gaining a reputation for being a force to be reckoned with in my local airsoft field.
The Elite Force Walther P99 is actually a recreation of the Walther P99 DAO but it didn’t come as a surprise because Umarex USA also owns Walther. So if you’re an OG user of the P99, you’ll surely love this model and feel at home with it (I did!).
This isn’t our roundup’s Editor’s Choice for nothing. So let me tell you the ways it ticked off all the boxes for our team.
Starting from the top…
…this great gun has two fixed sights, one on the front and one on the rear part, which only adds to the great accuracy of this guy.
Although, let me just say that you wouldn’t really need much accuracy with pistol airsoft products as you’ll most probably shoot this in a close-range battle of about 30 feet and most.
Now, down to the slide.
This great gun is equipped with a metallic slide, which adds to its realistic weight.
Actually, without the mag and the slide, it still felt considerably weighty at 1.5 pounds when empty.
Now, we airsoft players have different preferences when it comes to our airsoft guns, but I do know that most players love a little weight in their toys, especially if you fancy a very realistic shooting game.
What’s cooler…
…is how the metal slide sounds. Very, well, metallic, and just plain boo-like! That makes it perfect for a little bit of showing off and intimidating in the field.
But then, I found a little drawback to that.
The slide was just a little loose straight from the package.
Upon receiving the long-awaited package, I opened it up and immediately noticed how loose it was compared to other GBB airsoft guns.
Another thing is, it also locked prematurely once while I was using it for target shooting. But it didn’t happen again after that.
Now, this is subjective…
…but the slide is also a little light, compared to the rest of the components. It’s an awesome quality if you like your airsoft guns easier to use.
Going further down, we have the trigger pull.
This awesome Walther also has a good safety selector where you can lock the trigger pull and keep it from firing.
Now, it proved to be some kind of an issue for me and some users whenever this awesome Walther P99 CO2 safety selector catches in the holster.
I’d be all ready to fire after turning a corner just to have my pistol fire nothing because the safety selector was switched when it’s caught on the holster!
Anyway, I’d be lying if I say it’s a big issue. It’s petty and something that’s very manageable.
You’d also be delighted to know that the magazine release is in a paddle style.
That’s a far cry from the button-style magazine release that most airsoft guns usually have.
With a paddle-style magazine release, I was able to say goodbye to accidental stick mag drops and getting surprised that my pistol doesn’t have a mag anymore because I dropped it somewhere when I accidentally pushed the magazine release button.
And it’s ambidextrous!
An ambidextrous paddle-style magazine release at a price point of under $80? More than a deal, my comrade.
In addition to that, the pistol grip is very well-textured to avoid it ever dropping from your hands, especially if you’re wearing gloves.
Going to the bottom of the Walther P99 CO2 blowback, you have the CO2 cartridge.
Amazingly, it’s hidden in the pistol’s grip so you won’t experience CO2 going in your magazine ever again!
That feature alone makes my bucks super worth it if you think about it.
I’ve heard some people complain of difficulties in removing the gas chamber when it’s time to change, but I didn’t experience any of it.
All you have to do is lift the bottom of the grip and turn the bolt to the left and remove the gas capsule.
In case you’re wondering…
…I was able to use about ten 15- magazine capacity before the CO2 ran out.
As for the magazine capacity, you have 15 rounds before you’ll have to reload again, so be sure to get some more extra mags if you’re going to fight on the field.
How did it perform in cold weather?
While I didn’t expect much, as gas airsoft guns usually don’t perform well in cold weather, this thing didn’t give me any problems and just performed as if we’re on a nice sunny day!
Aside from the barrel and the exterior, this also has metal mag, which only adds to its weight.
Wondering about the overall feel?
Just imagine holding a real handgun. Yes, this Walther P99 CO2 is even heavier than a Glock!
Upon firing, you’ll hear a satisfying metallic sound, the reason why this quickly became popular in my local airsoft field.
Now that’s what I was talking about when I said this is the pistol for airsoft bosses, like, really.

Compare to Similar Products
We’ve done the picking and also the testing using 5 metrics based on the most important qualities you should be looking out for when buying a GBB pistol.
Below are the results and how the Elite Force Walther P99 stands among the other players.
Our Analysis, Comparisons & Test Results
Performance Comparison
1. Value for Money
Hands down, the Walther gave us way more than its very cheap price, being just under 70 bucks. It has the features of an expensive GBB pistol but a price point of a basic one. Perfect.
Value for Money Rating
2. Power
At an FPS of 320 to 390 at most, this is one powerful blowback for field use, though not as powerful as the WG with 500 FPS.
Power Rating
3. Versatility
Being quite the advanced GBB as it is, it’s still a pistol approachable enough for beginners. Its realistic features also make it great as a training tool. Now that’s what we call a versatile player!
Versatility Rating
4. Range
The Walther topped the range chart but it’s far from perfect. Of course, being a GBB, you can’t expect this to be super helpful in long-range shooting. But I was able to shoot accurately still at 100 feet, with just a little bit of an arch.
Range Rating
5. Accuracy
Talking about arches, yes, your bb might arch its way to your target, but surprisingly enough, I was still able to hit all of them and not miss a single one. Thanks to its fixed front and rear sights!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)
1.What kind of accessory rail does it have?
It has a Weaver-style rail.
2.Does it come with a CO2 Capsule + Mags?
It only comes with one mag and no capsules.
3.Is it made of metal and feels like a real one (kinda heavy) or just cheap plastic?
This is not a full replica of the real P99 weapon but it has a realistic blowback in which the slide cycles whenever you fire. With a polymer frame and metal internal parts such as the slide and the barrel, it does have the weight of the real thing.
4.Does it have a “hop-up” thing for putting a spin on the plastic bb?
No, it doesn’t.
Our Final Verdict: Elite Force Walther P99 Blowback CO2 Powered Airsoft Pistol
With the rough field tests and target shootings done, we now come to the final verdict. Obviously, the Walther topped the chart, being the Editor’s Choice and offering what we paid for!
Conclusion: Elite Force Walther P99 Blowback CO2 Powered Airsoft Pistol
The hardest part is over. We’ve done the buying and testing just so you won’t have to.
Though, let me just say that using this awesome weapon was as fun as writing down this review. It also helped that it has a very thoughtfully engineered safe lock!
We were surprised through and through and felt like its price wasn’t enough for this lineup of great features.
We now hand the baton over to you.
Will it be this realistic P99 replica by Umarex? Or you’d rather have the Best Value awardee, the Glock 19X GBB?
