Our Verdict: Game Face GF529 Airsoft Sniper Rifle
The fact is, plenty of new Airsoft players are pretty excited about sniping.
Or perhaps you feel like trying out the sniping role in your Airsoft team?
Well, let me tell you this…
Sniping ain’t easy in a game.
And you know what’s even more difficult?
Choosing a top grade Airsoft sniping rifle that has the right features without breaking the bank.
Thankfully, after testing out a whole range of Airsoft rifles, we have just the right product for you.
Yes, it’s the GF529 Airsoft sniper rifle.
The plain looks come with just the right level of realistic touch. Also, the plastic and metal combination gives it a rugged touch.
And the performance…
Let’s just say that it has all it needs to support you to up your game.
The fact is, we used it for a few hours on our testing ground (we hijacked the local airsoft field, actually).
The lightweight of the rifle was great, and the overall ergonomics was spot on.
What’s more, loading and unloading the ammo is a breeze using the speedloader. The spring powered single shot bolt action works like a charm.
The product also includes a few practical accessories.
The hop-up system could be improved, but with the given range of features and the affordable price, it’s a good buy just as it is.
Does that sound interesting?
Let’s see the rest.
Our Analysis, Comparisons & Test Results
In case you haven’t tried Airsoft sniping before, we suggest you get the DL in an actual game or two.
Once you start, you’ll be hooked.
Airsoft sniping is a lot of fun once you get the hang of it. And especially if you have a gun with features like this one.
After testing the GF529, we know it’s going to be good for those long-drawn-out games.
And it’s also a good replica of a precision grade rifle. So veteran snipers can refresh their muscle memories.
We even tried using it for some close-range shooting with the 6mm ammo. It’s not built for that, but the results were pretty good.
But I’m jumping ahead.
Let’s do this one step at a time.
Performance Comparison
1. Value for Money
Honestly, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I read the price of this gun.
And the quality you get is simply topnotch.
To start with, the overall build quality is good. We gave it some pretty rough handling – it stood up perfectly.
The spring powered single shot bolt action works smoothly.
Next…
… you get 400 fps of power. However, you won’t get that much while shooting with .25 g BB pellets.
That’s where it falls short of the BB Tac M62, our Editor’s Choice.
Rating
Imagine running out of power in the mid-game…
The good thing is, the GF529 is spring powered – no worries there.
It also gives a realistic feel that most users will love.
We also liked the lightweight convenience.
Remember, it also includes a speed loader, a 29 rounds magazine, and a cleaning rod.
You can buy accessories like a scope and bi-pod support to upgrade it further. They aren’t included.
Not that we were expecting those accessories from Gameface at this price.
On the whole, it’s an excellent value for money choice for beginners.
For veterans, it could work great as a secondary gun.
Also, it’s simple and easy to use.
2. Power
This Sniper won’t necessarily blow you away with its capabilities when it comes to the power metric.
You may have realized by now that spring powered Airsoft guns don’t give the highest power outputs.
Nor are entry-level products the best choice for blazing power levels either.
But don’t get me wrong here.
The Game Face GF529 rifle is no weakling.
The spring-piston action shoots 6 mm BBS at 400 fps. That’s pretty swift.
And with 29 rounds of ammo in the magazine, you’re ready to tackle your enemies head-on.

3. Range
This is one metric where the Game Face GF529 rifle fell short a little.
Let me explain.
The product comes with an adjustable hop-up, which adds some amount of mechanism backspin to the BB’s in long-range shooting.
In this case, calibrating the hop-up didn’t help. We had to compensate based on the shooting range.
Keep in mind that it isn’t designed for close quarter combat.
Still, we did manage a few close-range shots with the 6mm BBs.
Rating
However, with 6 mm ammo at close range, the gun tends to overshoot. The problem persisted even when we were long-range shooting.
This spring powered single shot bolt action won’t give you the best power delivery with the .25g BBs.
We felt the power delivery was reduced by a good fraction when we used heavier ammo.
If you’re shooting at 100 to 125 feet, the accuracy levels are good.
Beyond that, you’ll need a lot of luck and a fair bit of practice to hit the target.
So is this a great choice for long-range shooting?
Possibly not.
At the same time, it’s a great sniper rifle at medium range.
Admittedly, most backyard battles won’t need you to shoot at very long range. And that’s what this rifle is designed for.
4. Versatility
Are spring powered single shot bolt action rifles the most versatile among Airsoft guns?
Hardly.
But that doesn’t make this item limited in its overall capabilities.
While you can’t expect to use it as an Airsoft shotgun, it’s a good gun for medium-range shooting.
Remember being in a never-ending Airsoft battle?
With a 29 round magazine and a speedloader, this rifle is well equipped for those games.
Rating
The one-piece precision metal barrel makes it pretty reliable. It improves the accuracy levels at short and medium ranges.
Also, the short length of the barrel adds to the overall maneuverability in the field.
Here’s one of the best features of the rifle…
The dual Picatinny accessory rails for your best add ons.
I used a 4×32 scope – that upped my game.
What we also loved was the fact that the gun was easy enough to zero in.
And the best part is, the accuracy level at mid-range is superb.
It gives the higher-priced competitors a run for their money.
Besides being a bit deficient in long-range shooting, it’s as versatile as an Airsoft sniper rifle gets.
5. Durability
Durability is one aspect where this rifle excelled.
And when you consider the affordable price, it’s a no-brainer.
Firstly the ABS plastic build quality is good. As expected, the barrel is crafted from metal.
The overall construction makes it rugged enough for outdoor use.
And the best part is…
The durability is well balanced with lightweight convenience.
The synthetic stock isn’t substantial – but it’s durable enough.
Also, it has a rubber recoil pad for cushioning.
The fact is, rifles with a spring powered single shot bolt action are the most durable Airsoft rifles you can buy.

Now, what about the internals?
Long term users told us the rifle had performed reliably over the years for them. There were a few occasional cases of the speedloader jamming or the magazine dropping.
But in our tests, we didn’t see this.
On the whole, it’s a reliable product that shoots well.
We suggest that you keep the rifle clean and dry when not in use. That way, it’ll last for years.
6. Ease of Use
This gun is super easy to use.
Firstly, it’s got mechanical features and doesn’t need a power source.
So you won’t be running out of power mid-game.
The spring powered single shot bolt action mechanism isn’t the fastest out there. But the speedloader offers reliable performance to support the action.
All you need to do is load the magazine, slide it in, and switch the safety off.
And you’re ready to battle.
Rating
And it comes with a sling. We love the small touches to make handling more comfortable.
Then again, the Game Face gf529 is a lightweight sniper rifle – fine for carrying for long periods.
The magazine holds 29 rounds of ammo.
The assembly of the rifle is pretty simple. Beginners will have no problem attaching the parts and accessories.
Even though it’s simple…
… the rifle looks great.
At this price point, the realistic design got a thumbs up from us.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)
1. What gram BB should I use for my airsoft sniper?
The weight of the ammo has a significant impact on performance. In general, the weight of the BBs can vary between 0.32g – 0.45g. The type you need will depend on the fps and the build quality of the rifle. Unless the rifle has specific requirements, we would suggest you buy 0.25g BBs. They deliver outstanding results in most cases.
Keep in mind that there might be legal limits on BB weight, the FPS, and the energy measured in Joules. Make sure to check the limitations before changing the ammo.
2. Does BB weight affect FPS?
Yes. A heavy BB will reduce the FPS capacity of your gun. The rifle will require slightly more energy to fire the BB. Still, if you shift from 0.20-gram ammo to something heavier, you won’t notice the difference. That is as long as your rifle has an adequate capacity.
Our Final Verdict: GF529 Airsoft Sniper Rifle
So there you have it.
We have all the ten Airsoft guns listed down based on their performance.
Which will be on your shopping list? Is it going to be the GF529 sniper rifle? Or will it be our Editor’s Choice the BBTac M62?
At the same time, you simply can’t go wrong with our Top Pick, the Well MB4401D Varmint air rifle.
Conclusion: GameFace GF529 Airsoft Sniper Rifle
Ok. Time to wrap this up.
Now, when we use the word “value” for a product, it’s not just about the price. It means the overall quality and convenience compared to price.
Without a doubt…
